Tine – biography

Tine Papic is a Jungian analyst, member of IAAP, and works at the Open Institute for Psychotherapy in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Tine teaches analytical psychology in several schools, including Sigmund Freud University Ljubljana and IPAL. He studied psychotherapy at Sigmund Freud University Vienna and later became a Jungian analyst through the IAAP router programme. Since 2014 Tine has been President of the Slovene Society for the Study of Analytical Psychology. Tine also holds an MA in philosophy and a diploma in Computer Technologies from the University of Ljubljana.

Marie-Louise von Franz said that the inferior function is the window through which not only angels but also daemons come to us.

In this workshop we will explore why it is important to know our typology, inferior function and shadow, and how they may manifest in countertransference. We will look at the theory of typology, the theory of transference, and the ways in which these two fields intersect.

We will also examine real examples of acting out, as well as situations in which difficulties appear through the inability to act when action is needed. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their typology in a group setting, explore its relation to the shadow, share experiences if they wish, and engage in practical exercises connected to the topic.

Drago’s biography

Jungian analyst, member of IAAP, and graduate of the C. G. Jung Institute Zurich in Switzerland (2014). Drago also studied physics and economics in Zagreb. He is an accredited training analyst at the C. G. Jung Institute Zurich, member of the Dallas Society for Analytical Psychology, and President of the Croatian Society for Analytical Psychology. Drago is in private practice in Zagreb, Croatia.

Drago’s seminar – Money Shadow in Analysis (4h)

The goal of the seminar is to help participants think about and work with money-related issues in analysis. We will begin with the classical definition of the shadow in Jungian psychology. This will lead us to the complexes that constitute the shadow, with a special emphasis on the money complex.

Like every complex, the money complex also has a collective aspect. We will try to understand the collective dimensions of the money complex through the history and psychology of money, as well as through comparative material from fairy tales, mythology and religion.

The second part of the seminar will focus on specific themes from clinical practice that will be discussed within the group. Participants are invited to contribute examples or questions from their own practice and life connected with money.

Natalia Reteyum biography

Jungian analyst, member of IAAP, accredited analyst at the C. G. Jung Institute Zurich, in private practice at the Open Institute for Psychotherapy in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Natalia received a degree in Psychology from Moscow State University named after Mikhail Lomonosov (2007) and continued her education at the C. G. Jung Institute Zurich in Switzerland (2008–2013). Besides working in private practice, Natalia also teaches analytical psychology at Sigmund Freud University Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Natalia’s seminar

Working on shadow issues is one of the main parts of any analysis. We know the classic approaches to such work. Yet we also know that sometimes things do not go “by the book” and classical approaches do not help. In such cases we may not be very effective in working with the shadow complex.

In this seminar I propose to explore how and why therapists may fail in helping clients recognize and integrate the shadow, and how our own shadow may contribute to such failures. I intend to use examples from my own practice and encourage participants to bring cases where they feel they may need a fresh perspective on working with shadow material.

Olga Kondratova’s biography

Olga Kondratova is a Jungian analyst, member of IAAP, and teacher at the Moscow Association of Analytical Psychology in both its basic and regional programmes. Olga is a supervisor at MAAP and member of the Russian Society for Analytical Psychology (RSAP). She has a private practice in Moscow, Russia.

Olga is the author of programmes such as Jungian Therapy with Fairytales, Shamanic Circle of Myths (together with Elena Ratnichkina), and several publications in the journal Jungian Analysis (a Russian Jungian quarterly publication).

Olga’s seminar

In this seminar we will take a closer look at such habitual obligations of the analytical profession as solitude, isolation and silence. Each of these also has a shadow side — seduction through relationships, publicity, self-expression, as well as listening to others and inventing meanings for them.

How can we endure the anxiety and tension that are necessary prerequisites of the alchemical process of analysis? We will do several exercises, discuss a few clinical vignettes, and reflect on acting out and the freedom of the analyst.

General information

The seminar will take place from 9–11 March in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the premises of OIP, Reber 11.

We aim at deep work within a group of 8 to 12 practicing colleagues.

The attendance fee will be 300–350 Euros, depending on the number of participants. A prepayment of 100 Euros is required to secure a place.
